"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the LORD,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, "The LORD is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
Psalm 92:12-15
What a great promise for our senior years as Christians – we can "still bear fruit in old age" – we can stay "fresh and green" by the grace of God. We honor senior adults at Cornerstone. They are our wise counselors, our prayer warriors, and in many cases, our most exuberant worshipers! They are not an isolated part of our family, but an integral part.
On the first Tuesday of every month, we invite all seniors from our church and our neighborhood to come and have a great lunch. It's free, it's healthy and it tastes great. God's love flows extravagantly as we greet, hug, serve, and pray for each other. We spiritually "wine and dine" these important people because they are so important to us and to God's Kingdom!
