What We Believe
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God's written word to men. Every word is inspired by God, authoritative in our lives, and without error. We believe that as we study it, meditate upon it, and obey it under the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, that it is of great value for doctrine, correction, training in righteousness, and it equips us for every good work.
God, The Father
We believe that there is only one true and living God who exists as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He graciously allows us and encourages us to call Him Father. He is perfectly Holy, Loving, Righteous, and Just in all his ways, and worthy of all honor, praise, and glory as the Creator and the Sustainer of all things.
God, The Son, Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son and that He left the glory of heaven, was born unto a virgin, lived a sinless life, and performed mighty miracles during His time with us here on earth. He died on the cross for our sins, God raised him up alive from the grave, He ascended into heaven, and He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell and empower His church. Jesus reigns at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us, and one day will return to earth in power and glory. He alone is the head of the church!
God, The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us when we accept Salvation. The Holy Spirit enables us to live a godly life and become like Christ. We believe that the "baptism" or the "filling" of the Holy Spirit is an experience that every believer can have. This experience brings power for sharing what God has done for us and service. We believe all the Bible teaches about the gifts of the Spirit and we encourage everyone to pursue daily the powerful Spirit of God.
Salvation by Faith Through Grace
We believe that God has proven his love for us because even though we were sinners, Christ died for us. Anyone who turns away from a life of sin and selfishness, and places his faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross, becomes a child of God. As a child of God is it becomes our absolute priority to live a life of good works for God's glory! We are saved from sin, death, and hell by the grace of God through our faith. Our salvation is a gift of God, and not the result of any work on our part.
Spiritual Growth
We believe that God's word commands diligent effort on our part to grow up in our faith and to become mature believers in Jesus Christ. Our spiritual growth is not measured against other believers, but against the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who not only provided a perfect example for us, but also imparted His divine nature into our lives.
The Church
We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ (not necessarily a building in this instance), and is all important in the fulfillment of God's purposes here on earth. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and every Christian is a member of His body. It is the important responsibility of every believer to find his place in the church so that the church will grow and accomplish its purpose. The church is God's instrument for the salvation and growth of lost souls, and God's means of smashing the gates of hell. |
